News killed my computer ...

nah, I don't really think so ... but my computer is gasping its last few breaths.

It's very sick - no applications, no email, no system tools - only Firefox seems to be working - and tomorrow hopefully someone is going to look at it and give me a verdict. I know there were a few other things that I've promised to do and post, but I'm out of action now until they either fix this one or replace it. My preference is whatever gets me back up and running the soonest.

Please send positive thoughts my way.

My laptop died a few days ago too.. soemthing is wrong with the registry... System restore didn't even work, can't even transfer files... and hardware was all gone.. so i reinstall the hardware, yet the laptop is still not perfect!!! but still got all my news files
But hope you will get your news files too!!!

Could you write them on DVD first? or transfer to the external hard disk?

Computers can be evil.... that is why I have a hard disk which is specially bought to save JE files... and anime.... I will drown my laptop once I leave Sydney.
