Japan Trip - First few days in Tokyo
Oct. 25th, 2008 12:24 pmThe first few days of this trip have been very very hectic and I don't see that it's going to slow down at all until I collapse onto the plane to fly home. We're trying to fit in touring and sightseeing on one side and as many Johnnys related activities as we can on the other. So the days tend to break down into all Johnnys, all sightseeing or a number of days are both!
We started with a Tokyo tour and an evening seeing Tsubasa in World's Wing Premium. You can read more about the show - and see lots more hot Tsubasa pics at tackey-tsubasa.net. Hopefully there will be a dvd of this production this year. Great show, great music, great dancing!

Sightseeing day also included a trip to Asakusa where sneaky stall holders attempted to lure us in with very obvious ploys - that work quite well. "Black Pepper Senbei as eaten by Yamapi on tv!"

A long day at Disney Sea followed. A gorgeous place though I couldn't help thinking of the parallels between the empire created by Walt Disney and Johnny - the dedication of the faithful seems to have a lot in common.

Then time for more Johnnys activities on a very wet day in Harajuku. There wasn't a queue to get into the Johnnys Shop, just the usual line up once you were in there. It was not so busy (by comparison) and the line moved fairly fast.
There wasn't much activity in the News corner because they've cleaned out a lot of space to get ready for the photos for the tour. The earliest stuff there now is the Taiyou no Namida pv shoot photos, and there's a very large space where I imagine the off-shots from the pamphlet shoot will be going up tonight.
Wandering around I just couldn't help but spend money.

This was the backing to a keychain I bought (with that picture on it)and it just really amused me.
Did find a Happy Bath Day stand - but only bought a few little things to slip into my luggage for going home.

Bought a few other things as well. This is just a small selection.

Couldn't resist the KKKity.
There was a lot of talk in the weeks gone by about places to purchase tickets. I haven't ever bought from them but Gorakudoh did have a few tickets for News this weekend, running at around 40 000 yen. They didn't have any other concerts though, so maybe they only stock things that you can get to easily from Tokyo once you've been into the shop to part with your hard earned money.
Tomorrow is going to be a very big day! Up early and onto a shinkansen to Sendai! Stay tuned ...

This is what is on the inside of the 'Invitation'. Looks like the usual concert information about venue location, goods prices etc.

Date: 2008-10-25 03:32 pm (UTC)What's the Shige's show thing - a clearfile or pencil board? If you found a pamphlet, don't tell me. I'll sob for days. I searched for one and never found one.
Hope the concert is everything you dream it will be!

Date: 2008-12-29 08:26 pm (UTC)how'd you get the tickets and invitation thing? just curious.

Date: 2009-01-01 03:48 am (UTC)The invitation thing was pure luck. We bought our tickets through ticket.co.jp and the person who sent them included the invitation! There were some tickets for sale there that said that you'd get the invitation as well.
And the other side of the invitation was all the usual concert information that they send out anyway, so it was a memorable way to include the details. And make it a keepsake.

Date: 2009-01-01 10:38 am (UTC)so you and your friends managed to get around Japan without having a clash in language? i think if i went there i'd be lost as hell as to how to communicate with the Japanese. hahaha.
can i add you as a friend here?
