September magazines - Duet, Potato, WinkUp & Look at Star

Back with the recent magazines … Duet, Potato, WinkUp and Look at Star for September. Look at Star gives us probably the final pages on Shige's play.

However, it does seem like it's going to take a bit of a miracle to save 2011 from being "the year without NEWS." And I have to admit that the almost constant disappointment is leaving me feeling very worn down and pretty fed up.

I understand more than ever the feelings of many friends who have left NEWS fandom because it was too hard to stay.  And there's no guarantee that if we do make it to the end of 2011 that 2012 is going to be any better. No work and no support is not the way to promote any group.

It seems there is basically no interest from within Johnnys for the NEWS that we love and miss - and there hasn't been for some time. In magazines they are always presented as (2+2)+1+1 - the idea of 6 together seems to be a totally alien one.

I found it demonstrated very clearly in Duet this month when they had a few pics to celebrate Massu and Shige having birthdays in July. They Photoshopped Koyama and Tegoshi into the photos to wish them Happy Birthday but that was all. As it has been for a long, long time now.

Anyway, I have thought long and hard about it, and for now, I'm still scanning …
