Inala, I am so jealous of the photos you have and of your scanner!! all the pics come out so big and clean! what kind of scanner do you have?

My scanner is just a little Canon flatbed scanner. When my old one died a couple of years ago I wanted a real scanner, not a multi-function, and there aren't a lot to choose from. But it works pretty well.

However the scanner is only the first part of the process. I spend a fair bit of time then working on the scans after I do them - to clear up marks and scratches, to smooth out the tone, to make them lighter and cleaner etc. The clone stamp is my very good friend as well.

And some of those shop photos aren't the best quality to begin with. Some of them are so dark that even a normal person would think twice before putting them in an album, let alone selling them. Then again, we buy them, so who's the fool there?

And it's really not a chore to spend such a lot of time pouring over the faces of these boys ... not at all. Let's just say that I now know where Koyama has freckles that I wouldn't have known a few months ago! XD
